Over the years I have collected timber from many sources including churches, schools and building sites. I have also rescued timber from woodworking businesses that have closed down. I have been fortunate to be given wood from many private customers that pass it on to me after losing loved ones or downsizing.
Reclaimed comes in many sizes and shapes. A lot of work is involved in de-nailing and machining timber to repurpose it. One of the great joys of working in reclaim is that you often let the material tell you what it will be rather than the contrary. Sometimes you have enough to create a table, while other times you only have enough to make a light. Sometimes, it is the shape that decides and sometimes the quality.
